The Kenya Blood, Cells, Tissues and Organs Bill, 2026

Summary

Establishes the Kenya Blood and Transplant Authority; provides for registration and certification of transfusing, transplant and retrieval facilities, banks, courier providers and distributors; establishes quality-management systems, donor consent, complaints and appeals mechanisms; creates offences relating to unregulated services, commercial dealings, trafficking and retrieval without authorization; and repeals provisions of the Health Act and the Human Tissue Act.
